re:connect is a large conference with 200+ attendees, 1 track, 7 sessions and 3 keynotes.
Because of the mechanics of running a conference like this, and making sure our delegates have the best experience possible, we require volunteers to help us coordinate the event.
Volunteers are needed to do the following tasks (they could be asked to do any or all of these on the day):
- Checking in attendees at registration and workshops
- Answering attendee questions and providing directions.
- Assisting with navigating around the conference venue.
- Providing assistance to speakers.
- Acting as a photographer or videographer.
- Putting up signs/posters throughout the venue.
- Setting up the venue and checking the equipment is working.
- Support to advertise the event beforehand.
- Session Chairpersons to introduce a speaker and chair Q&A sessions
- Technical Support
- Tidying up after the event
- Supporting our sponsors/partners on the day, and much more…
What skills, experience and attributes do I need?
Along with having great communication and interpersonal skills, we ask that you be:
- Friendly and enthusiastic about creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone
- Willing to work as part of a team.
If you have specific technical skills and experience, such as setting up/using audiovisual equipment or anything else you think might be particularly useful, please let us know when you apply. We will do our best to align you with a volunteer role that suits you.
How much time will I be expected to give?
A minimum of 2 hours dedicated to volunteering on the day
We would also require you to be available between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
What can I expect in return?
A Free ticket to the event.
