This is the Privacy Policy for Women in Tech Dorset CIC and Women in Tech Dorset’s re:connect event and associated websites, apps, and registration. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal information we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.

re:connect is a conference and networking event for the technology community and associated supporting ecosystem.  We are committed to protecting your personal information.

Women in Tech Dorset CIC is a community for women in tech, those who want to enter tech and the organisations that employ them. As a non-competitive network, Women in Tech Dorset CIC shares inspirational talks and experience through a series of online and face to face events. The network identifies and shares environments, schemes and company cultures that facilitate inclusion and encourages wider adoption of these practices in Dorset businesses. We are committed to protecting your personal information.

Unless indicated otherwise, this Privacy Policy relates to our use of any personal information we collect or use in relation to the following services (collectively, the “Services”):

  •  the Women in Tech Dorset website (including www.womenintechdorset.co.uk) and related subdomains and websites including those pertaining to registration for attendance at WiTD events;
  •  the re:connect conference, physical and digital;
  •  the re:connect website (including www.reconnectconference.co.uk) and related subdomains and websites including those pertaining to registration for attendance at the conference;
  •  online surveys relating to the conference;
  • messages sent via the Conference support team; and
  •  the re:connect and Women in Tech Dorset official social media channels.

The type of personal information we collect 

We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details)

Attendee registration information

  • When you register to attend a Conference, you must provide us with basic information such as name, address, email address, role and organisation. We also give you the option to provide additional information relating to dietary and accessibility needs

Conference survey responses

  • We may ask you to participate in optional surveys regarding your experience at the Conference in order to help us improve the event and for related commercial purposes.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

We use your information to provide, operate, improve, understand, customise, support, and market our services. We may use information we hold about you in the following ways:

  • to administer your registration.
  •  to let you know about other relevant services, both ours and those of other parties whose products and services we have agreed should be made available to you

  •  to develop, test and improve our systems.

  • to ensure the content of Our websites are presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.

Your information is securely stored. 

We keep event registration data for 2 years after the event. We will then dispose your information by record deletion.

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
